ISA’s decision to venture into the telecommunications industry was the
result of its sector diversification strategy. As a result, it moved its gained
experience in transportation from one point to another through linear
infrastructure, to businesses other than energy. INTERNEXA´S
transportation of communication business is synergic with ISA’s core business,
since power lines are an economical and efficient way to
develop telecommunications transportation.

strong and powerful company, which -in just a decade- was transformed into a
multinational company driving the emerging of Colombia into new markets in the
region and investing in Latin America, to improve the quality of life of its

Our history dates back to 2001, when our commercial operations began in Colombia
with an initial deployment of 1,831 km of fiber optics, serving the following
cities: Medellín, Bogotá, Cali, Manizales, Pereira, Popayan, Tunja, Bucaramanga,
Barranquilla, Sincelejo, Monteria, Riohacha, Santa Marta and Valledupar.
In 2003, we landed in Ecuador, through a partnership with the local network
TRANSELECTRIC, which led to TRASNEXA S.A. In the last 5 years of the first
decade of the XXI century, we began commercial business in Peru, where we
energized a completely concentrated market, we offered an alternate option of
land-based telecommunications towards Caracas, through an agreement with CANTV,
and we began local operations in Chile, one of the strongest and most admired
markets in the world where we are proud to be the only company with an open
business model. During the second decade of the XXI century, we are heading
towards opening markets in Argentina, Brazil and Central America, delivering the
promise to operate the largest terrestrial telecommunications network in the
continent.
