INTERNEXA has a complementary network system of different technologies such as DWDM, SDH, MPLS and IP, which ensures coverage and quality required by customers.
INTERNEXA offers connection to submarine cables MAYA, EMERGIA, PANAMERICANO, SAC and ARCOS, in this last consortium it participates as operator of the cable head-end and has its own capacity. It also has an Internet access Carrier Class platform with direct connection to major providers in the U.S.
THE NETWORK IN COLOMBIA
The network is deployed over 7 fiber optic rings that cover the major cities in the country and in turn are integrated with microwave links for the service to secondary cities, allowing us to offer the highest standards of redundancy and coverage.
A 6,652 kilometers long optical fiber network with nationwide coverage throughout the following rings:
-
Central Ring: Bogota, Ibague, Neiva, Popayán, Cali, La Virginia and Medellin are served by 2 DWDM rings with ultimate capacity of 1640 Gbps and equipped with 77.5 Gbps up to date.
-
North Ring: The North Coast is covered by a DWDM network with 40 operational lambdas of 2,5Gbps. Additionally, there is a second network with 80 DWDM with 10 lambdas of 10 Gbps of which 40 are currently in operation. With this ring, the cable head-ends of Tolu, Cartagena and Barranquilla and the cities of Ocaña, Cúcuta and Bucaramanga are covered.
-
Northeast Ring : For interconnection with Venezuela and the service provision to the cities of Valledupar, Riohacha and Santa Marta, we have a DWDM network composed of 7 lambdas of 10 Gbps and an STM-64 channel.
-
Northwest Ring: Monteria and Sincelejo integrate with the city of Tolu through a DWDM ring with 8 lambdas of 10 Gbps and an equipped STM-16 channel.
-
East Ring: The cities of Villavicencio and Tunja integrate with Bogota and Bucaramanga through a DWDM ring equipped with 25 lambdas of 10 Gbps and a STM-64 channel.
-
South Ring: The city of Pasto and the interconnection with Ecuador through TRANSNEXA are covered by a DWDM ring with 5 lambdas of 10 Gbps and five STM16 equipped channels.
-
Southeast Ring: In the Colombian Pacific we have direct representation in the city of Buenaventura with a DWDM ring made up of 2 lambdas of 10 Gbps and an STM-64 channel.
Additionally, there are three fiber optic branches that serve the cities of Pereira, Armenia, Manizales and Arauca.
MICROWAVE NETWORK
It complements the coverage of the fiber optic network. It has an active infrastructure of 19 repeaters, 22 SDH links and 50 PDH links for additional coverage and redundancy for connections of cities such as Armenia, Bogota, Bucaramanga, Girardot, Ibague, La Virginia, Maicao, Manizales, Medellin, Monteria, Palmira, Pereira , Riohacha, Sincelejo, Tunja and Villavicencio.
With this network, INTERNEXA consolidates the system with greatest capacity to carry information within Colombia.
