Wavelengths and Optical Spectrum: The Invisible Last Mile of Streaming in Latin America
1. The Hidden Map of Streaming: Why Distance Still Matters When a user in Medellín plays a video on Netflix, that content could travel from Miami, ...
Optical spectrum enables customers to enable high capacity 100 or 200Gbps broadband Lambdas connectivity over InterNexa's fiber optic infrastructure lit or equipped with systems supporting 50/100GHz tunable and ITU-T standard compliant channels for DWDM.
In this product, InterNexa provides portions of fiber equivalent to n channels of 50/100GHz DWDM spectrum (0.4nm/0.8nm in optical spectrum width) between InterNexa's locations. The customer lights or activates its channels with its own 100Gbps/200Gbps DWDM equipment, with which it will have access to the planned capacity. InterNexa provides the DWDM optical layer for access to the spectral channels, performs spectrum management and 24x7 operation.
Optical express networks that support FlexGrid, FlexModulation and Coherent Transponder technologies to support high capacities that improve latency from the country's main data center to the submarine cable heads that connect Latin America to the world. InterNexa's DWDM optical networks are ready to be lit by customers' transponders, enableing them to connect their nodes and serve their end customers in a timely manner. The quality of the OPGW fiber optic networks, their high reliability and adequate operating margins guarantee the good performance of the customer's channels and the promised availability.
